Professor Emmanuel Petrakis of the University of Crete, one of the leading researchers in information and communication technology, with main interest in Industrial Organization Theory and Policy, Managerial Economics and Organization, Game Theory and Bargaining Theory, Digital Economy Issues and Internet Economics, visited Moscow to present a working paper “Horizontal Mergers and Acquisitions with Endogenous Efficiency Gains” at a seminar in the HSE Management Department on May, 27, 2013. He gave a special interview to HSE news service.

Dr. Kuskova' chapter entitled “ When West Meets East: Methods of Assessing Group Variation in Comparative Emerging Markets Research ” published in Research Methodology in Strategy and Management has been chosen as an Outstanding Author Contribution Award Winner at the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2013

Courses schedule for the Third Module

School of Cross-Cultural Management

‘Management in Developing Markets: Trends and Strategies’ was the topic of an international summer school which took place at the HSE Faculty of Management. Irina Volkova, organizer of the school and professor at the HSE Department of General and Strategic Management, told us about the event.

On Monday, June 25 the first International Summer School for graduate students «MANAGEMENT IN EMERGING MARKETS: TRENDS AND STRATEGIES» has started on the Faculty of Management

The school is held in English and focused on master students and senior bachelor students of the foreign universities, who are engaged in research in this sphere, and also master students of HSE.

Two Brands, Two Countries and Two Diplomas

The HSE International Institute of Administration and Business (IIAB) is launching a new year-long Masters in European Business programme which is open for graduates of the HSE as well as other Russian and international graduates. Irina Maltseva, Director of the IIAB, told us about the programme’s details, advantages and the application procedure.

Innovations: a New Elective Course

In April a new all-university elective course on Science, Technology and Innovation: Analysis, Strategies and Policy will be launched at the HSE. It will be delivered in English by leading HSE international professors as well as some visiting experts. Dirk Meissner, Deputy Head of the HSE Research Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies, and one of the authors of the course, told us more about the course, its structure and specifics.


In January 2012, 13 students of the Higher School of Economics visited Singapore as part of the ‘iConnect: Connecting global Youths. Inspiring future Entrepreneurs’ exchange programme organized by the students from the National University of Singapore.
