International Conference on Tourism in Transition Economies – Problems, Prospects, and the Competitiveness of Destinations

On May 20-21 the International Conference on Tourism in Transition Economies – Problems, Prospects, and the Competitiveness of Destinations took place in Sochi. The conference was held at Sochi State University in the framework of the project ‘Network for Excellence in Tourism through Organizations and Universities in Russia’ (NETOUR). Several HSE staff members took part in the conference.

During the plenary session Olga Oyner, Head of the Department of Company Marketing presented the report on the study of hostel clients’ satisfaction in experience economy.

Kira Reshetnikova, Deputy Head for Research at the School of Business Administration and Marina Predvoditeleva, Academic Supervisor of the master’s Programme in Experience Economy: Hospitality and Tourism Management. Tourism and Hotel Management organized and moderated a round table on the competence-based approach: bachelor’s and master’ s programme regulations aimed at training specialists in hotel business.

Antonina Korelina, Research Assistant and Doctoral Student at the Department of Company Marketing presented the report on the connection between involving consumers in value co-creation with their satisfaction in hotel industry.

During the conference the participants discussed the problems of research in the field of hotel management and tourism and the opportunities for future cooperation.
